Nice! Gonna watch this topic... been tryin for years to have a van roadworthy to get to Nats, and WI is as close to me as I can imagine!

The time is getting close. Are you going? Are you caravanning with a bunch of other people? It would be cool to caravan all together with a bunch of Earlies. However if you live closer or want to get there earlier, I will be there starting Friday morning. The week before Nats is Summer fest in Milwaukee!! It is the biggest fest in the Midwest. It ends Sunday July 8th. It is only 30-40 minutes from the Nats. Here is the link. http://www.summerfest.com/

. 2014...I am hopeing is my year to drive down there. I heard nothing but good times are had at these events.

This one is close to me. Only 2 hours away. Looks like a good time. Maybe i'll finally fix my exhaust and make the trip.... Maybe i should swap out my leaky powerglide as well....

There is not a swap meet, But if there are parts you need it is a good place fro people to bring them so you can pick them up. I have a bunch of parts I am bringing for people. It is also a fantaztic place to find ways to fix issues & get ideas for your van!! You are close. I will be getting there Friday July 6th and staying till Monday July 16th. Hope to meet you there!!

For a website that caters to all early vans, i thought there would be more talk/excitement about this event here. Who is actually going? I'll be there.

I ll be there with my new to me 68 mid Ford firevan. Its runnin funky so I'll trailer it. Ken Hopcraft is gonna help me check it out once I get there. It's not like I have the time anyway since Im busy finishing up a house Im rehabbing right up until I leave. The van seems to have some carb or electrical/distributor issues. Kens bringing his tools and some extra parts in case we need em.

Is anybody planing on saving spots for the early crowd? A site of all earlys you would be a real nice look!!! Got the ok from the wife that now i can head up ther monday hopefully before it gets to hot...

The wife and I are planning on being there Thursday and Friday

would love to make it , never trailered one to a show before ,and i think this far would be a safe bet to w my rear gears . hopefully a closer one as i get more comfortable w it .
but definatly hitting the national street rod nationals first week in aug.

I booked passage on the ferry from muskegon for Wednesday. Should be there that afternoon. If google ain't lyin' and I dont get lost in Milwaukee, should be less actual drive time than going to Bakers. The cost figured out a wash compared to buying the gas, but that is 1 person & 1 van.

At noon today there were 7 vans lined up outside the fairgrounds waiting to get in !

That makes me want to drive over there tomorrow. But I've got "chores" that need tending to around the house before heading over monday morning

Sorry I've been off the site for so long. Been dealing with way too work crap lately. Finally got the door gaskets in and changed the motor mounts. Still needs a whole bunch of work done though.

Was there last night with the A100. Bunch of Earlys there already. Lots of stuff going on even though the "Nationals" didn't officially start until today.

Going to abandon the Pop-Up there tonight, then come back Thursday evening.

Wow !! Did I have a good time! Definately putting The Ohio 41st on the "Things that are going to happen" List.

I started out with a short 70 mile drive to this...

That took me to here...

From there it was a about a 48 mile run. (Once I got thru all the darn construction detours). I burned up 12 gallons of gas going to the nats ! Yeah the ferry isnt cheap but it sure made the trip so much quicker. It gave me a half a day of fun I might have missed otherwise. I got a nice spot between Nipring and jriniman.

I'll post some more after the dust settles !! LOL
P.S. yeah I havent fixed the date thing on the camera yet...

I had the pleasure of meeting Terry aka Magic Bus and his lovely wife Debbie at the Nats. I also stopped by a members house,Toby,aka Organ Grinder Toby has one bad ass street rod. It was great to put a face to the names.
