It will be going into the Big Blue 1970 van,,,,,,we tried to find an underdash unit but they stick out too much so this evaporator unit has the heater core built into it. So you remove your heater assembly. And since VanAgain had his heater core assembly in his 65 out right now, we tried out that unit on his van. Looks like it will work for both vans. The condenser comes with a fan on it and gets installed flat under the van,,,,,,,,there are brackets to relocate the alternator to the drivers side of the engine and install the compressor in its place. This van has the 350 engine and trans, so its a little different than what most of us have. But I sure am liking that Evaporator/Heater/Fan unit in one small package,,,,,,,and the controls are mounted separately. So this weekend, I will be helping my buddy start installing it,,,,,,,

Don, Don, Don. I really don't mind the cold (Well maybe the shoveling snow part!), I just have have some major arthritis from all my Iraq injuries so chose the heat over being in pain everyday. But the idea of having AC just sounds so "COOL" yes, pun intended. I drive my van everyday, but some days It's just to hot! Evil or Very Mad

We did not like the way the evaporators stuck out from under the dash, so we went with one that has the heater core built in it,,,,,,,in that way, it kind of just replaces the whole heater system in our vans. We got remote switches so they don't have to go under the dash to run the A/C and Heater. And we did not want to add a condenser in front of the radiator so we went with one that has an electric fan on it that you can mount anywhere, like under the van. Any compressor will work,,,,,those Sandens are common,,,,,,It comes with all the hose and fittings,,,,,,the critical part is how to mount the compressor and the belt to drive it. On the 350 engine, they provide a bracket to move the alternator and another one to mount the compressor. Now I would like to know if they have a 6 cylinder bracket set up. All the other parts look like its the best system for our vans. But we shall see IF these parts will fit the van without too many problems........and it's a Hot Rod System,,,,,,,you know that means it SURELY costs more than a system that is not for the rich Hot Rodders,,,,,,,,

Ok,,,,,,,the installation starts,,,,,,,,alternator gets moved over and the compressor goes in its place,,,,,,,those service valves are too high and hit the doghouse lid,,,,,,,the black box evaporator has 4 heater ducts out the back for drop down heat ducts and upward defroster hoses to go on,,,,,,4 A/C ports out front for deflectors,,,,,,the heater control valve is electronic as well as the flapper valve inside the box,,,,,,,,I need to call then about the service valves and some of the wiring that does not match up on the schematic that they sent,,,,,so these are the fist problems that come up,,,,,,and next is to install that auxiliary condenser unit,,,,,,,,,,
