Re: Yellow?!?!
It takes a 'real man' to drive a Yellow early!
Actually, there was a guy on here (Michigan) that had a yellow A100 panel with a Super Bee black stripe on the back end.

Yellow a100
I was looking at painting my 67 A100 in a sharp looking yellow color. But my wife who is the color / graphic expert in the van partnership, diplomatically said h%&* no. The colors we are looking at now are a fleet color from martin seynour paints called tantalizing turquiose. I have to admit, after shooting a sample on a scrap door, it looks pretty good.

Re: Yellow?!?!
sehrnman- Thanks! I'll probably be going with a little brighter yellow, but that does look pretty good. Its either that or my stock aqua blueish color. Hmmf. But I'll be painting my beast in over a year from now, so i have plenty deciding time.

Re: Yellow?!?!
The original color of your van is the same as mine... Bermuda Turquoise. There are paint codes available for it, so a repaint of the original color is possible.

twinpilot001- Yeah, that bright. I see where the sun hits the door.
snarky poet-Is our color rare? The PO told me that the blue was a special order color back in the day. Is it, or was he just saying that?

Re: Yellow?!?!
I want a crazy yellow, i dont want it to be to the orange side, or too easter egg like. Heres a picture of what it could be. This on the bottom and top, white in the middle.
I'd love to have a fade in it from botom to top like Jesse James did on his Monster Garage car.
I was also thinking brown, but i dont want the truck to be dated in 5 years. I mean, yellow is a pretty 90s hot rod color, but you still see that around. Brown is a little iffy.

Re: Yellow?!?!
No, I have the original dealer invoice for my van. It was a special order metallic paint color that was applied by the local dealer over the factory paint. (Most of the custom sportsmans were gold from the factory.)
The 'bright finish' chrome mirrors, full wheel covers, and bumperettes were also options. You had a choice of rear gearing and front axle capacity as well. I've got the catalog from the dealership where my '66 was purchased with all the options in it.

Re: Yellow?!?!
I've only seen a handful of them, but I don't know how rare they actually are. I don't think any numbers were kept, since the paint was applied at the dealerships and not at the factory.

Re: Yellow?!?!
All our Vans are getting rare- and only the origional - with factory acessories and colors will bring any increase in value - to the collector types. our vans are a personal ID to each owner- with his colors & mods. Unique to each one of us. Who wants a van just like someone elses??/ Do your thing/ not the wifes, neighbors & friends suggestions . Be happy with ur color choice & paint scheme, wheels , tires , stance ,, ect!! Im down to 4 colors in my repaint -when i get thru with this van - like so many of us = everyone will know whoze it is!! Happy Vannin

Re: Yellow?!?!
Yeah, true. I'm not doing a total resto anyway. It'll be lowered, hopefully fast, and a yellow is what im really feeling. Its just, i'd hate to see the blue go.
