thanks for all the feedback guys, i'm stuck in china till july 3rd then i'll be on the road again, i got some parts ordered, and i want to start on the rest of the interior, the front seats are already recovered in red vinyl with gray inserts i want to do the back with 2 matching buckets, red and gray vinyl and diamond plate alumimium and a killer sound system, i also need to paint the steering wheel and the tach. housing, i'll paint them red metalflake, heavy on the flake, let me know what ya think, yea or nay ?

If you wear rings, i wouldn't paint the steering wheel. I had a painted wheel in the past and it didn't take long to wish i had left it alone.

I'd love to see a picture of the rear suspension. Cool ride

it's got a built 440 in it, i narrowed the housing had the axles resplined, moved the springs inboard of the frame on new crossmembers that i made, i'm running 31x15.5x15 mickey thompson tires. john i've flaked wheels in the past using a flat base coat, mix your flake in a clear midcoat, then top it all of with 4 or 5 coats of urethane enamel clear coat, holds up real well

is that console between the front seat just a console - or did you open up the area for more air into the doghouse ? - oo3

so can you still remove the front of doghouse cover? - or do you even need to ? - i can imagine airflow is even more important with a 440 than a slant six! - oo3

i got to looking around my garage and i spotted a vw beetle tank that looked just right, the shape of the bottom clears the springs, the top half of the tank is above the floor, vw sending unit works the dodge gauge, same ohm rating, i welded the new filler tube in and removed the old tube, in the future i'll fabricate a new top half for it to try to get at least 20 gallons in it
