Thanks for asking. i have been healing well and reading old posts! I still have til January for my skin-graft to heal so i can start walking without crutches....and my head trauma is longtime gone but i still get "grey" areas with memory, etc. i have been told by friends/family i am the same now as i was before but who knows.
oh yeah, and with severe head injuries, i am not allowed to drive (anything) for almost 6 months. that sucks but i will take my van around the block soon i think. the wife even suggested that one!
i have been workin on van drawings lately, you'll see them soon enough!!!!(just thought i'd tease).
I am alive and life goes on. but i do appreciate everyones kind words and you asking, Tom.

James sorry to hear about you misfortune but glad to hear your doing better. At least you have someone in the truck to blame it on. Some friends that my wife and I travel with on our Goldwing got ran over by a 1 ton truck that didn't have anybody in it up in Maine a few years back. They were both messed up pretty good but both recovered and went right back to riding. I've been on several trips with them this year, came to Colorado the later part of June but we didn't get far enough north for me to give you a shout, maby next time. Take your time and get healed up, you'll ride again because if your like me it's in your blood. The way I look at it, if I leave here tomorrow on mine and don't come back at least I went doing something I love.

    Take care, wideload

so to add to my story, i ran an errand with my wife today and when i got home, i was thinkin about takin the van around the block. I am not supposed to drive for 4-6 months due to head trauma from the accident but a short run would be awesome! as i looked at my van today, it appears someone hit it and ran with a large truck. my driver-side west coast mirror is destroyed, my rebuilt lower hinge on that door is trashed and the front bumper is destroyed and pulled the bumper bracket out of the sheetmetal of the van and screwed that up.
i dont want to get you guys jealous of my bad luck over the last 2 months....LOL
just kidding. i seriously am a good person and never cause people harm. so it isnt bad karma, the world is just goin to H3LL it seems.
oh well, no neighbor saw anything and no one but you guys can relate to how hard it is to find parts for these old vans so i thought i'd share my bad story.
    james
p.s. so to repeat this story from vcvc. i hate typing....

xjamex, that sucks real bad!!!! Don't worry things will get better. Just from talking to you here I know your a good person. After you get better give us a list of what you need and we can help you out there. I don't have many extra first gen parts, but if I have something from your list it's yours free.

thanks, Gman. I really need to replace the front bumper (1st gen. chevy) cause it is F'd up and bent it half and it cracked. I also just need the rectangular part (with the mirror) from a west coast mirror but not the arm or mounts, etc. i can post pics tomorrow....
I am still healing from my previous accident so money is tight. to be read TIGHT!!! but i can start with payments or if someone has them to hold for a month or 2 til i can work again, i can buy them within a few months.
    thanks guys.
