i know 350's are cheaper to build, but am keeping a chevy six anyway. anyone running a 292, stock or built? just something about the sound of a cammed up six. nastalgia? anyway, i have a good 292 and a comp cams 268 cam. looking at running twin webers and cast iron headers. would like to swap in some flat tops while its out but cant find them anywhere. will look at head later, unless something falls into my lap. any opinions or advice?

Get Leo Santucci's book " chevrolet inline six-cylinder power manual " it has all the mods and casting numbers you will need...Read it from front to back as it also has a lot of do's and don'ts ....he refers to the 292 as the power house of the inline 6's....if you are going with the 292 there is also a motor mount offset plate made to move the motor mount to the correct location....there are several websites that cater to the inline sixes as well. langdons stovebolt.......clifford performance.... steves nova site has some good info as well.....but the best resource is the book !!! best $20 I have spent....it covers it all...

already got the book, and catologue from langdons. motor mount not a problem, i can make an adapter plate or simply cut and reweld the bracket. clifford, and a couple others, deck the block and heads to gain compression but evan 100/1000 only takes it from 8:1 up to 8.6:1. propane pistons are 9:1 so it seams combining the two gets me close but hate to swap perfectly good pistons and rings for that little bit.

found 'em at weisco. $535.00 for flat tops, made to order. 8:1 or 8.5:1 are $189.00 at summit.
