i hope so! my van was burning oil and ran out the other day as i wasn't paying attention, now i got a very shaky motor and a clanking sound, im thinking it is maybe a bent piston rod and hoping its not a bearing!

Walker was kind enough to post one in this thread.
Sorry to hear about the oil, what kind of oil pressure you getting now? I'd guess it burned up some rod/crank bearings being out of oil.

If it's shaking and clanking after running with no oil, you probably hurt the motor. Standard guess is rod bearings and rods damaged. Quite often the crankshaft is damaged too.
What engine is it?

Re: Dodge 1968 A108 service manual
thanks guys for all the input, i really appreciate it.
its the 318 V8 727 torqueflite
hopefully its not the crankshaft, i felt it start to die early on, and pulled over immediately, and didn't hear any clanking till after i had already stopped and added oil and some more gas and an oil treatment stp bottle, oil pressure is back up, haven't tried to start it since the incident which happened on friday.

See if there is a local Mopar guy or a knowledgable engine guy to come take a look and listen and determine what's going on.
