I'll have to see if the 108 is ready for a long distance, big hill drive by then.

I'm thinking about the grade from El Centro to Alpine and wondering if a /6 would be faster than walking!
I've got a lot of irons in the fire right now, but once a few things get sorted out and I can spend a bit more time on it, I'll have a better idea on if this is truly nuts or a remote possibility.
I just told my SO about this and she thought it was cool. The funny part is that we moved from El Cajon to here 3 years ago!!!
I didn't have a van back then but would take my Mopars to the cruises there. We lived only 2-3 miles away. Now, I'm trying to figure out how to make it to another one from 6-8 hours away....
If the truck is back up and running well, it would probably be better to tow the A-108 out to her dad's place in Alpine and drive it in from there. I just won't tell anyone and have them call me a trailer queen!

Born a Californian, spent all but maybe 2 months of my entire life there, was never more than a few hundred miles away, then I got sick of the rat race and moved here to AZ. It will be 3 years in April.
In CA they say you are a local after a couple years since the population fluctuates so much. While I doubt I will ever be a local here in this small town and I will always be CA born, I guess I now consider myself an Ex-Californian....

Got my truck back and finished the diagnosis and repair the shop was unable to do
I should be able to drag my 108 to the area and drive in....

I will be there, its only a few minutes away from me.
