You mention buying a quart,, If you have a paint code and brand your sticking with they can make up a batch of spray cans for you, They are awfully handy to have for touch ups and any small add ons or changes you might make as you go, it might depend on what kind of paint you are using but I had it done with the enamel and it works out pretty good.

I like that fawn interior color too. Whenever I see it I'm reminded of my first Chevy van. It is a hard color to describe.
But, back to the topic of glove boxes, mine is silver. Mine is the Sportvan Deluxe, so the interior is turquoise, to match the outside. The whole van is still the original paint, so I'm pretty sure the glove box is too. Its trim and the center part are the same silver as the trim around the instrument cluster.
There is one other color in the interior: the dark gray steering column. (Just the skinny part of it, not the upper parts.) That little dash piece that holds the heater fan switch is also that color. I think this was the case on all models of first gens.

Yeah I have been going through the Napa paint isle trying to find something close. That's probably as far as I will go they have some GM matches.

Re: Glove box paint color??
Here's what my original paint glove box looks like.
I've painted a few murals in my day and I always wanted to paint a little one on the glovebox of my first van. Maybe this time I will!
Here's how the steering column looks. That ring beneath the steering wheel is white to match the two tone paint job. I've seen this on two other Sportvan Deluxes. And you can't see it here but two of the four "segments" of the steering wheel are also painted white.

Re: Glove box paint color??
I painted the bezel of my speedo cluster a silver with a clear coat on top. Looks pretty good and I took a fine magic marker and blackened the indented letters. Not a restoration thing yet it does look much better. Turned out so good I think I'll paint the glove box door the same. Just an idea if you can't find a paint code. Good luck.

Re: Glove box paint color??
Yeah that was the finished painted pic. I used a silver as a back coat then I used a gm color as an overlay. Came out close.
