My 318 is back from the rebuild shop. This engine came from a doner van that I parted out. The original distributor looks pretty messed up. I would like some advice from the dodge guys about the choice of electronic distributor and ignition coils for this application. I did some seraching on this site but did not come up with the info I needed. I have used petronix distributors on other vehicles but Ive also heard Mallory has some good products. Any thoughts or insights?

I used to run a complete Mallory system on my '72 Chevelle ( Is old the car a few years ago). I did a points to electronic conversion and swapped it all out for Mallory stuff. Never had any problems with it, worked great.
My only advice is to make sure you aren't leaning on the car when it's running and grab one of the plug wires. That arc is coming out somewhere and it wont be your feet (I found that out the hard way) .

Id stick with Mopar performance's electronic ign. conversion kit . $200 buys the distributer, orange box, wireing.
