    Hey guys... I'm shopping for new wheels and have my eyes on a set of 15"x6" vintage slot mags for sale locally. The only thing is, I currently have 14" chrome (rusty) inverted rims on the van and the size looks good to me. But I can't say the 15"ers won't look good either.

    Anyone have pics of 15" mags on their econo? If I get the 15" wheels, what size tires would you recommend? How about offset?

    I think the 15's are the best size for our vans, econos in particular, and they give you lots of options for tires. They look good with the right tires and fill the wheel wells up nicely. Mine are 8" in the rear and 7" in the front, but if the price is right those 6" ones could look great.

    Here's a pic of mine. It has 15x6 wheels with 205/65 rear and 195/65 fronts.

    I got the wheels! They turned out to be 15"x7" wheels, not 6". There are two pairs, one pair with old rubber mounted are +11/16" offset (so closer to the hub). The other pair are +15/16" offset (so they don't stick out as much as the shod ones).

    I put the two shod wheels on the van to see what it'd look like... the tires are huge 255/60's and more than fill the wheel wells. The rears I'm sure will work with a more modest 225/60 or even a 225/65. The fronts are a different story, it's really hard to tell what size tire will work best... I'm thinking maybe 205/60's.

    Southern Man, what are you running for tires?

    Here's some pics;

    Also consider if you want to add front disc brakes in the future. Only the D&D will definately allow 14" wheels. Most other upgrades may not.

    I'm running 14" slots on my van (they were on it when I got it), I'm looking for a set of 15" slots instead. Mainly for tire size options and better highway handling (rpm etc).

    Here's my van with the 15" slot mags polished with shoes on. Sorry the quality of the image is not great.

    I ended up making cardboard cutouts to match, as close as I could, the profile of a few different tires. With the bare rims mounted on the van, I checked for clearance issues by holding the cardboard pieces up to the rim. The tire are rounder than I thought, so I ending up with a little more clearance than expected.

    I ended up getting 205/50R15's for the fronts and 215/60R15 for the rears. I wanted 225/60R15's, but they weren't available. Next time I think I'll get 225/70's for the back.
