by Guest Tue Aug 24, 2010 1:27 pmMy gall bladder is enlarged and has stopped working but they are afraid that I would die on the operating table if they were to take it out because I have had 5 heart attacks and two strokes so I have to see a cardiologist and get cleared for the surgery. They put me on fentanyl patches in the meantime and took me off the morphine that wasn't doing any good anyway. The fentanyl patch last for 72 hours and they had to get a special DEA permit number to give it to me.

That's a bit of a predicament. Rest up, so that when you see the cardiologist, you will be optimal.

Thanks. I am sure the cardiologist will say it is OK. She gave me the go ahead for lap band surgery which I have to put off now because of the gall bladder. She also cleared me for shoulder surgery.
