Hi Van experts -- l've been a lurker for a while, but this is my first post.

I've liked the G-vans since my uncle had one back in the late 70's.

I'd really like to find a G-van with the following wants
    - fully sorted out
    - nice paint
    - early flat-window
    - window van
    - stock seating
    - manual trans
    - with A/C
    - stock engine or V8 conversion ok
    - stock or custom ok

I'd like to just tinker and maintain, not restore.

Does this exist? What might I be expecting to pay?

I'm guessing the A/C requirement may be the biggest issue but I've seen some picks of an overhead unit (like 70's vw vans), or a "vintage air" retro fit.

    Thanks in advance

Then you would be looking for a 65-66 Chevy Sportvan in our G-Van For Sale Section,,,,,,,and you would have your flat glass, 6 cyl, 3 speed trans, windows, rear seats, fancy interior and chrome exterior pieces to start out with.......

Thanks for narrowing it down for me. That's what I was thinking, but thanks for clarifying the years and model.

Was A/C a factory or dealer option at that time? Or would I be looking at a retrofit?

The vans are not really set up for A/C,,,,,the condenser needs a lot of air to remove the heat, but I would say someone has some type of modified system on their van,,,,,,but this is really rare,,,,,,that box-on-the-roof was probably more for cooling the cargo area in the old days,,,,,,
