Hello All , Just want to say introduce my self. I have been lurking around for a while. Just want to thank the forum ( and G man) for the for sale section. I found a really clean 64 handi for sale in New York. , the guy had it shipped here from california within the last year. The guy didn't ant to let her go, but has other irons in the fire. I made him feel better, knowing it was going to a good home. The underside is clean as a whistle. Already has a v8 with all the correct mounts an even the right tranny mount. The only bad spot on the van are in the drip rails and around the windshield. O yeah and the wonderful coat of white house paint she's wearing. This is my first early , wanted one for 20 plus years. We'll that all for now going to go play with the 64 Bob

Yeah put about 20 miles on the van in my driveway!!!!!!!!!!! Needs some love but plans are to get it plated and work on it as I enjoy it. I have a half dozen unfinished porject cars that got carried away, time to drive a project. I was thinking disc front but seems to stop on a dime and ask for change, brake where just redone. Need to fix the throttle linkage(lots of play). Needs a better radiator, someone mounted a late model front wheel car radiator on it's side(scary). As soon as time allows the van needs to be soda blasted or chem stripped to get rid of the house paint them some flat sealer for now. Antique plates tommorrow then crusin the neighborhood. Hopefully this pictures show up Bob

Nice indeed. I even dig those mirrors on it. I've heard of people doing house paint on the vans. lol. Try aircraft remover paint stripper. Comes in a spray can. It doesn't discriminate how many layers of paint there is. Let the good times begin.

BBC yeah the mirrors look cool but they S@%K to back up with. I've used air craft stripper before you just have to be very careful that you get it all off. My buddy paints for a living and a customer stripped his own car to save money, problem is that he didn't clean the drip edges good enough. After my buddy painted the car guess what the stripper ate the new paint. CUstomer ate the paint job twice(didn't save money) Bob
