Well! round one went off with a bang. Blew a tire on the trailer in Roanoke. Lucky I was just comming up to a chicken coup and got to pull in there to change it. Better than having to do it on the side of the interstate. 30 mins and we were back on our way. Dang, That was a good tire. Ruined my matching set. LOL. Holding up in Staunton for the night. Ate at the Texas Steakhouse. Not too bad. Had better.

Going to bed now. Be back tomorrow!

At least the tire was nice and didn't knock the fender completely off the trailer when it went. Are they doing the interior while you are there or do you have to make the trip backm to get it??

Got up early and put some miles down. Got to see a nice sunrise over the Shenandoah Valley. Trip was going good until we got to New York City. Heavy traffic at the Geo. Washington Bridge. Got the brakes a little hot in the stop and go. Had to stop till they cooled down. Eat some dinner then back on our way. About two hours left till we get to Freds. That's the Geo. Washington in the picture. We've never been to NYC before. Just had to take a look. We can check that one off the list. It's done!! LOL.

Fred and I have been talking about the interior since he and Sue came to visit last year. Made soild plans around the first of the year. Worked out this visit in conjection with Carlisle All Ford Show. With Sue's health failing last week I thought we'd have to put it off but Fred said he could use the company. We have Eric Duffel comming up from Mississippi to help out. Hope to cheer Fred up. Can't wait to get there.

Well, the dent in fender came from a junk yard when I hauled off a parts car. Guy dropped it. Sad Fred has some of the panels already done. Rest we'll do when I get there. Good thing about doing it with Fred is that he knows his way around an Econoline. Already had patterns for most everything.

Well, we got into Fred's last night without any problems. Got unloaded and set up the RV. Got the nickel tour of his place. Nice stuff. Worked on the seat covers some last night. They are looking great. We have a big day ahead of us today. Headliner and rear panels. Cover the dog house. Need to get my new shoulder belts installed. I'll post more as we go along. Picture is really dark but that's my 61 outside of Fred's shop. I'll get some better pics today.

We've been working hard on the interior. Got the doghouse and floor covered last night. Had to add a roof rib for the headlinner. Seats are done. Still have a ton of work to do. Eric Duffel got here about 11:30 last night. Jumped right in and started helping. Duane.

Well. We made it to Carlisle. Lost another trailer tire along the way but made it none the less. Fred didn't get finished with all the interior, even after pulling an all nighter. Kudos to Fred for the work he did. The man is amazing. Outstanding work. I highly recommend him.
I haven't got the pictures of the interior just yet. I'll try to get some tomorrow.
We got set up at the campsite and got something to eat. Came a big rain this evening. Hopefully that will be the end of that.

of new people. Saw a lot of great cars and trucks. Again, the rains came in the afternoon. Everyday we've had rain. Not too bad tho. We had much more fun. Getting packed up this morning to head home.

Well, We made it home. We left Carlisle early Sunday morning. Had a valve stem go bad on the RV. Got that fixed and aired back up. Drove all day to Stonewall Lake WV and spent the night there. Got back on the road this morning and was making pretty good time. Stopped for lunch in KY. Just a few minutes after getting back on the road we blew another trailer tire. Completely out of spares. Limped on down the shoulder on the rim. We madee it to a little gas station on the side of the interstate. I was afraid we were going to get screwed over a tire but the owner gave us a great deal on a good used tire. Copher Service was the name of the place we stopped at. Only wanted $25.00 for the tire mounted and installed. I gave him a tip and filled the RV's tank while we were there. Great place to have a flat!!. We pushed on thru and made it home just before dark. Glad to be home. Tired of flat tires!! We really enjoyed the trip thru WV. It's really beautiful country. Charleston is very nice. I'll have to go back and stay for a while.
