What a great photo! Simpler times indeed. I'm so glad I grew up in a time when us kids could take off our bikes and be gone all day, as long as we were back in time for supper! Freedom, independence, exploration, simplicity.

They sure were. No one locked their doors at night, no home defense systems and everyone knew one another in the neighborhood. I don't miss the nuns from grade school though, still have scars on my knuckles from those old wooden rulers, ouch. Don't think they could get away doing that these days.
