So how much more popular are the Corvairs compared to the Vans like yours? What you found suggests there is some possibility these old beasts really are diamonds in the rough. Very Happy

Nothing wrong with a Corvair van.
I have one, and I would consider selling it if I got that kind of money for it..LOL
    Seriously, I love mine, a 63 Greenbrier, 4-speed.

How much money would we have in our rides if we also stripped to bare metal, full paint, NOS emblems, rebuilt all components, and the rest for a full resto?
I'd say that was well bought, if that's what the buyer wanted, and at that price, I'd say they did.

    Yes, you are right.
Some people want a museum piece or an "all done" vehicle.
    Nothing wrong with that!
If you've got the money, go for it.
And sometimes, in the long run it is cheaper by far to buy a done vehicle instead of going through the expense of having all the work done.
    Costs add up.
    Been there, done that.
I lucked out with my Greenbrier, as it was a relatively low mileage van with 58,000 miles on it, faded paint, but no rust at all. Got at a price I could afford.
