    Van Weight? Empty Van Weight?

Post by TBMainard Sat Mar 13, 2010 6:36 am

I'm new to the forum...we are picking up our first econoline this weekend. It is a 1967 Deluxe Club Wagon, extended length. We are excited; but, am curious as to the actual weight. It has no rear bench seats, just front seats. We purchased a used owner's manual off of ebay; but haven't received it yet.

We are planning to bring it home from Michigan on a car trailer. Even though I'd love to drive it home, just for the adventure of it! I think we'll just play it safe...

We will post pics as soon as we get them!

    Thanks for your help!

Hmmm, I live near the Fox Lake area, 35 miles NW of O'Hare

Taz has a weekend of earlies late in the summer just North of Gurnee. There is also a van show near Lake Geneva in October.

I would guess about 3300lbs Vanish is about right with 2800 for a typical short van but the extended van weighs more, has the heavier 9 inch rear end, plus a 240 weighs more than a 170 and all the interior components are a little longer which also adds weight.

My '66 Supervan weighs 3363lbs... 300" motor, AOD trans, alum wheels & only 5 leafs in the rear springs. Gross vehicle weight on mine is 3650. Which means it's good for about 2 people??
