Re: One Thing Leads to Another
The lights make it look shinier than it actually is. Without the lights or flash from the camera it looks like a really slick light gray.

Re: One Thing Leads to Another
Sparky that's the carb that came on the van when I got it from Portland Oregon. It's a 1 barrel Rochester that I recently rebuilt (with a little help from Donivan) and a 292 I6 engine(not sure what year). Still has the original power glide auto trans.

Re: One Thing Leads to Another
Got the Fiero seat belts installed. Had to do a little engineering and fab work but wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Had to set the retract boxes in the walls because of the seat clearance on the pass side. I think it worked out pretty well. Here's a pic of the driver's side without the paneling installed. I'm going to start another post to show the bracket in more detail.

Re: One Thing Leads to Another
I just checked my 65 Sportvan and it's got a 1/4" gap between the ceiling and the windshield brace. Maybe it's just the 64 and early 65's that don't have a gap there. Or maybe they're all a little different from the factory depending on the welder that day!

Re: One Thing Leads to Another
I wonder if there's a difference between the sportvan and the panel? My 66 sport van has the gap but the 65 panel doesn't.

Headliner looks great...
and it was great to meet you yesterday. Thanks for making the effort to see me. I hope to drive the van out to see you on your next visit.
And, I know this is a little late, but the headliner looks great. I hadn't thought about doing the front section too. In my old Westy (mostly because some boob had put a vent thru the roof) I redid the headliner with fairly inexpensive remnant carpeting (no shag
over the stock Westy plywood and one could say it was cheesy I think it lowered the sound dramatically--seemed like 5 or 10 dcbls at least.
Of course, I have to say that stainless covering looks much, much better than carpet.
Thanks again for the visit, Mark
