I'm going with this tranny, (Turbo 400) with the 350 V8 for my 66 G10 because its cheap, in great shape, convenient, (already hooked up with the motor I'm buying), etc.

Anyone have any pointers on this tranny?

Its a manual 3 gear 2.48 1.48 1.0, (no overdrive). I guess I'm paying a bit more gas money on the highway, but my buddy put amazing parts into it, and it has 5K mi on it. Apparently it will last forever.

Bit concerned about the hanger. I guess I have to fabricate one. Anyone??

I'd appreciate any info you have on it. I'm new.

I'm not 100% sure , but I think the actual trans mount under it sets back a couple inches further than the 350 trans also, I did a swap in a 78 T/A once and had to change out the X-member, think that was the reason ? My guess is yes definately a fabbed X-member. Probably not much different than the 700 change over.
