Looks like they did a pretty good job. Most V8 conversions done to first gen's were done your way before people were putting 2nd gen dohouses in.

Well, with V8 doghouses being so hard to find. Sometimes you have to get creative if you want drop in a V8.......

Back in the day thats was the only way if you wanted a V8, At the time 2nd gens were pretty new vans so you just couldn't get one for a mod like this. Most first gens have it done this way. And it really easier than tearing a part the whole van to install the 2nd gen doghouse.
billski van is done this way and on his they added a little to the back of the doghouse to. Whoever did his did a first class job. (looks stock)

It does look good. There is a few other members who have done this and there has been some amazing work done. But in all fairness, I've seen a few really scary ones too..
