    Cool, thanks for that info.

    I removed my ID plate on the drivers side yesterday, and was also hoping to break down the numbers on it.
    Figured I have a 6cyl with a transplant engine (360ci) Smile

    Here's my tag; (as read backwards due to a few scuffs)

    1862156121 18169341 4600 A100
    3000 355 CHRY RA36 225
    2200 3SYN CHRY A745
    127 3900 940 1085 090

    Pure guess work here, but I think I have;
    A100, 3.55:1 diff ratio, 225 6cyl, A745 auto trans, 90 inch wb
    The rest is a mystery

    Yes, It looks like a 727 trans to me - with a short tailshaft.

    A745 is a 3 speed manual transmission for Chrysler.
    Now I wonder if the truck had a manual shift.

    Yeah, all A745's are 3spd manuals. Both of my vans have them also.

    The A745 was a 'heavy duty' transmission that was usually used with the V8 engines. Generally, the slant sixes got the 'light duty' A903. Your truck was equipped with the optional 4600Lb GVW package. (The rated payload was 1655 lbs.)
