What kind of light do you use ????

For the last week or so I've been spend some time under the 65. While doing so I discovered a cure for a long time problem I've had. I still have and use one of the old type drop lights.



These things can eat a normal light bulb as fast as you can put them in. After about three bulbs in 30 minutes I had an idea. I tried one of the screw in florescent bulbs and so far so good. Been using it for about four days now and it hasn't blown yet.

your hardware store should have "rough service" bulbs. they can take a bounce or two. regular household bulbs are NOT good enough for any trouble lites.

I used the rough service bulbs also, but they aren't as bright as household bulbs

I picked up one of the LED work lights at sears a few years ago and I'll never go back. It's got a nice rubberized housing and it's damned tough. It's also super bright... an incandescent bulb doesn't even compare.

I have a Fluorescent droplight like this one. Still original bulb and it takes a beating

I have 2 of these without the reel.............they work great.

I use the fluoresent also pretty tuff have not broken it yet

I use DeWalt 18v XRP's for just about everything to include lighting as well. The Fluorescent light is awesome but the flex light is the best for getting in those tight spots!!

These are fantastic. Pretty much indestructable, and they last for ever on a charge.... Not cheap, but i got fed up with breaking cheaper ones and splashed out on a good one.

i have the recoil droplite and use a roughbulb till i bang them till they quit than i grab a regular bulb, i also use a small floodlight that use the small thin bulbs that you aren't suppose to touch, needless to say that little bulb will blind you and works great.

There have been a number of posts on other forums about garage fires started with the old style bulb drop lights. Please get rid of those so we don't loose another van, garage or worst, another vanner! 3rd degree burns and ICUs are not an experience worth the money saved!

I,just like ya'll have used the drop chord type for years.Could never keep a bulb to last no time.Ended up with a burn or two somewhere.I was helping a buddy of mine that had one of those (similar to the red one above) rubberized LED,with multi row bulbs.That thing was great.It was cordless,kept a good charge,easy to work around.The kicker of it,he said he picked it up at a Big Lots/Odd Lots type salvage store for around $22.For the convenience of no chord to roll over and better light,I wanna pick one of these up.
As of what kind of light I prefer...Bud Light!

i bought mine from my mac tools guy, about 150 bucks but i beat the hell outa it and it has a lifetime warranty and it clamps almost any place.
