Extreme Weather ..........

Bill are you in the area where it might get 1' foot of rain

it has been raining cats and dogs here most of the day. My house is at the foot of the San Bernardino mountains where they are getting a lot of snow.

Bill are you high enough to get the snow?

I bet Don isn't getting to ride his bike from the looks of the weather map.

We are 210 feet below sea level so everything just washes down here from the mountains. The culvert behind my house is full and the winds destroyed the roof on my gazebo that I have my jacuzzi in. I paid ten grand for that gazebo and now it is mostly firewood. The weight of the wood and water also destroyed the insulated cover on the spa.

Its been snowing here since 2pm non-stop. So far we've got about a foot and its snowin like a mother. Will be going in to work for some O/T at 8pm to plow.

My back yard is a swamp with water almost one foot deep in places. The culvert behind my house overflowed today and it is still raining cats and dogs. Reminds me of the central highlands in Vietnam during a monsoon. We once got 32" of rain in one day. Couldn't see a thing which meant the VC couldn't see us either. The fighting came to an abrupt halt and the weird thing was it was 115 degrees so the rain was warm.

Ok so with all this rain who's gonna be the first one with pontoons on their van??? Remember to post Pics when you do :-)

I now have approximately four to five inches of water in one of my garages. We have flash flood warnings for tonight and tomorrow. The water is about ten feet from my back door. Need more sand bags but have to wait till tomorrow to get some. been in this house for 15 years and seen it rain like this.

I have worked 28 hours in 2 days up here, plowing. I will take a pic of Ester in the morning, the snow is over her front bumper. The snow will be removed from the roof tomorrow sometime.

wow thats bad weather! i hope everyone is ok. strangely up here in b.c. there hasnt been hardly any snow and i had lunch outside in the blinding sun with a t-shirt. it should be deep winter hell up here right now but the plants are starting to wake up. its so weird. i think i'll kayak on the lake tommorow. we will probably pay for this later with another crazy fire season. all the best to everyone...

Just got home......so far have 3+ feet of snow in the backyard. The van isnt gunna move for at least a month. I did get most of the snow off the roof though. I will get some pics up tomorrow........I'm REALLY tired of snow.

Snow like that is why we left upstate New York. When lake efect snow kickes in, it can build 3 or 4 fot in 12 hours. nice to look at, but hell to work in.

I think this will be our last year on the mountain. I'll still work up here, but we dont want to live in it anymore. The advantage of living in Socal is I can move down the hill and get away from it, the bad is that it will be REALLY hot in the summer though.
