    I figure the under linkage will be different, but what about the column?

    Or could I just leave the steering column in the 2nd Gen, remove the automatic gear selector, then bold it into a 1st Gen that has manual 3 speed?

    I had no trouble transplanting a 2nd auto cloumn into a 1st. It fit below too but that is a six a v8 would put it back a little..

    I got a 2nd gen 3 speed column in my 64. Works great
