Just me again. Is there any sense or value, to buy a 70 and install a 66 nose cone and w/s, to make it newer, but look older... I like messing with original designs....just a thought

The body's are the same, makes no scents to do all that work for something that know one would ever notice. If you were to do something like this you would be for the most part is just spending money. If you want a 66 buy a 66

SIX-FO, That's exactly what I was going to say. Andrewschevelle up in Canada had mentioned exactly that and he had plans to lop off the nose of his sec. gen. 108 and put a first gen. nose on it, hence creating a somewhat first gen 108. He talked about it at great length.

I like ideas like this. Its the benefit of the older and IMO better looking 64-66 face on the newer body which also gives you the wider doghouse for v8 if so desired. Now if you could just get rid of those tailights too. The smaller 64-66 look way cooler.

Re: 66 front face on a 70?????
Guess it will work. But I'm just putting a 2nd Gen doghouse in my 1st Gen.
It's "A LOT" less work!

Re: 66 front face on a 70?????
Dan,that may be true but I ll bet it's easier to find a nose than it is a 2nd gen doghouse. I know a lot of people are looking for them.
I just wanna see somebody put Corvair van roll down cargo door windows or side windows into their other make early van. I ve even thought about doing it on my Econo pickups back window but never got too far into it. How bout rear cargo doors in an early that roll down instead of pop out?
