they are an older style glass pack, they sound great on 6bangers theres no fart sound when you get into it. the best is when you have a split manifold then they really talk. i got hooked on them by a buddy that had a split man with them on his 235 54 chevy, he would run her up to 60 in 2nd and let off man it was awesome sounding.

i was paging through a hot rodding magazine the other day and saw they were still selling them, i ordered a thrush muffler with one in and two out for my slant 6 as i wanted exhaust out both sides but i may get a pair of smitty's for my 63 olds.

bob those leaning towers of power sound great with a split manifold and smitthys or golden goose mufflers, or if you did like me and come off the manifold about 6 inches and y it out to duals. the dual outlet should sound good too, specialy if you use 2in pipe and run them out under the bumper with some nice purdy tips.
speedway, summit, jegs and others sell smitthys now, patriot makes them.

we have a summit auto south of town smithys may be the excuse i need to drive down there plus i need some exhaust parts. also against most others thoughts i'm planning to run exhaust out infront of rear tires.
