    Hi Chaps,
    Can anyone help?

    My reversing lights are currently wired to a seperate switch on the dash(which is a bit of a pain)

    I would like to reconnect them to the gearshift lever

    Can anyone please share a diagram of how they originally connected ( I have ordered the repair manual on dvd-but it's not going to arrive for 2 weeks!)

    is it a manual or automatic transmission? Are the back up lights factory or add ons?

    Must be automatic as the back-up lamp switch is on the gearshift.........

    It is a bit of a pain to remove the gearshift lever, but it works. My '69 model did not have the switch on the gearshift lever - I just mounted a modern microswitch in a proper position. Your transmission might have the backup light switch included - it is a three pin switch, located on the driverside of the transmission a little above the pan. If in reverse, the two outer pins are connected. Otherwise, they are open. Hope that helps.
