Caught up on some house projects.. years worth lol.. so I think it's time to have a little fun with Hoopty

I acquired a 2 barrel intake a few years ago so I'm planning to buy a new carb, do the 4 pin HEI conversion and add a turbo with new exhaust. Been reading up alot on turbo conversions and haven't seen any As with a turbo'd slant so it should be diffeerent. Love the sound of a turbo setup. Tricky part will be routing the tubing in that little doghouse. Be fun to try tho!

ANyway, just thought I'd pop in and say Hi pig I'll update as I go

I did the GM 4 pin HEI conversion also, works good. I mounted the module on the outside of the doghouse with a large heatsink (for EZ service) I also used a Ford resin coil from a 1994 I think Ranger. Good luck. No more ballast resister. Add an intercooler so that you can get all power possible. Cool

I'm going to try to find a combo unit off the late 90s GM SUVs.. coil, module and bracket all in one. There should be enough of those in the junkyards.. or ebay.

Here's a excellent write up on Slant 6 HEI Conversion for anyone wanting to upgrade their igniton..

Intercooler would make the project that much cooler... but, I'm gonna stay simple for now. And cheap! What a Face

That's the type of coil I used.

    Like this one on ebay?

The 4 pin needs to be added to it but that'll still get me there for under $50 and I see autozone has reman distributors for $40.. Had to look up a 79 Aspen to find a electronic one

That coil should work, but it seems to have an unusual coil tower. That might be a concern with a wire set.
