Hi. I have A direct fan drive on my 69 v8 307 and thermostat is probably a 185 deg. But when run slowly in Town whit 25 degre outside , It go to About 195 . I see i can put A 16" electric fan. It will be better for fuel économy and better when run slowly ? Need to put A 160 thermostat ? I have electric fan in my other old car and i like It. Its less noise Also. 16" and 2500 cfm ?

Re: Electric radiator fan v8 307
Electric fan will help! yet - id use the direct fan also too! What you need actually is a fan shroud!!The thermostat heats water up so engine can gain proper operating temps!! 160 is too low!! use 180 -nothing higher & use a full flow thermostat- cheap ones -not good!
PS id bet being in canada- your 25 figure is in Celcius?? here we use F !!
