Does anyone know the recommended torque for the three bolts that bolt the starter in place for a 1964 170 six?

I always have just gone hand tight and snug with starter bolts. When in doubt go by bolt size and type, probably around 15-20#

Sounds good. I had always done the hand tight/snug way before until about 15 years ago had a remaufactured starter metal shatter inside and damage the pressure plate and clutch after I just installed it. The only feedback I had received from the company that it was very important to have al the bolts equally torqued for that reason.

Nothing like doing a quick starter swap and ending up doing an entire clutch kit.......lol.

***Not sure about double post but may have to do with an internet outage while I was in the middle of posting this topic.

I removed the extra posting so it wouldn't be confusing.
