Hey guys! Im looking to install the pertronix II and flamethrower coil I've just been confused by which kit I need to find. Is it the 91266? I have a 65 3.9L 240. Thanks!

1266? Does it matter what carb I have?

I believe either the 91266 Ignitor II or 1266 Ignitor I should be the correct unit(s). But you should call Pertronix to be sure. I can't remember the # of the one I installed in my 170. Their application info is annoyingly vague and confusing. Their catalog states the 1261 is for Autolite distributors from '49-'74 and the 1266 is for Motorcraft distributors from '63-'67. Problem is "Motorcraft" didn't exist until the seventies, and it was really just a rebranding of Autolite parts by Ford after Ford was forced to divest of it's portion of the company. My distributor is FoMoCo.

I pretty sure that the 1266 is for load-o-matic distributors like ours. But like I said, can't say for sure.

No, it makes no difference what carb you have. If it works now, it will work after the pertronix is installed.

edit: Here I found the answer:

Solid "D" shaped rotor shaft is 1266, Hollow "C" shaped rotor shaft is 1261
