Tire and Rim Size Question Empty Tire and Rim Size Question

Post by weirdbeard Tue Nov 04, 2014 9:32 am

Does anyone know or is running 275's on 10 inch rims.  The tire guide states 8.5 to 9.5 but I have 10" rims and can get a good deal on 275's. Not sure how it would change the look of the tire or would have trouble mounting.

     Your help is greatly appreciated.

Look back at your last post "E Van General Discussion"...They will fit No Problem.... Very Happy The 295/50/15's are a little wider but are 2 inches shorter than the 275/60/15's they measure at 28 inches tall the 295 is about 26 inches tall...

I would expect the wider rim would push out the tire and thus less sidewall. What kid of tire you have on there? They BF Goodrich Radial T/A?

I have Cooper Cobra's GT's but all the 275/60/15's are the same size..BF Goodrich,Good Year,Ect ..I picked the 275's becuase of the narower tread width and being a little taller they filled out the wheel well more I did not like the shorter 295/50/15...but with your econo the rear wheel wells are shaped different and you might have to go with the shorter ones unless you raise the rear a couple of inches or so...Tire and Rim Size Question 105_0310

We better leave it to the Econo guys and see what they have tried and what will work and what won't for sure..Without putting my hands on it... I would say the 295's will work with the 1.5" shackels not so sure with the 275/60's .... 2 inches taller is quite a bit especially with the clearince issues with the rear wheel wells.. Very Happy ..The 275/60/15 is about the same hight as a 235/75/15 just not as wide find someone with a tire that size (Maby someone's spare tire) and stand it next to your rear tire and see if you can go that tall then bolt the 10 inch wide rim on and see how far past the wheel well it sticks out mine was about 2 inches past the wheel well opening..Keep us Posted....

Great looking truck FIZ. Those tires look great on there and fill out the wheel well nicely. I always liked the weld racing wheels as well.

mine had mostly bald 295-50-15's on my 10'' rims the day I bought it. then, on the way home, a snowstorm force me to stop and get some 255-60-15's. both fit just fine. you should have no problems.
