BMW 3L turbo diesel into a '66 chevy van!

Hey guys

I'm just a '65 Ford Falcon van owner but I really had to share this. Weird part is that I saw this unique van earlier on today, in France (I'm visiting some of my family). I met the owner who was taking it on its maiden voyage from the UK. Couldn't resist to go say hi and what a surprise when he lifted the doghouse... it had a BMW 3L turbo diesel engine nested in there! And a 5 speed auto transmission.

Really wish I could figure how to post the pictures I took cause that was a clean install and a gorgeous van. (the rest of the van is worth giving up your wife for)

Anyway, I'm glad it's been done cause I'm a fan of diesel trucks (I have 3 and run them all on recycled vegetable oil).

I'll look into the picture tutorial again but haven't had much luck so far
The owner knows of this site so he might have already posted? If not then the pressure is on him! Hahaha!

great looking van. I have thought about a cummins 4bt, but never a bmw .

I figured a few of you guys would appreciate this!

In Canada we have a sweet little 2.8 turbo diesel from the Mitsubishi Pajero (same as the Montero but Japanese RHD import). I owned one of those trucks that I already converted to run on used veggie oil and now that I've seen this conversion it gets very tempting...

that is one of the nicest gauge layouts I've seen. It's cool how they made the BMW gauges work in the 1st gen dash.

Once you go that far in a mod, you may as well get it all done properly.
The ECU also likely talks to the speedo, so it's a matter of integrating all parts.
