Okay so my seats had been stolen and that worked out because I put new carpet down and sound proofing . I just got new seats for a mazda and the are good for the back maybe but I tried to put them up front and that is a big no go! I sit about an inch from my roof and am unable to touch the pedals and I stand at 6'3" so does anyone have a good seat that would fit and still be low profile? Maybe another ford or somthing i need it to recline and slide wich seems to be the hardest thing.

    Man that sucks, seats stolen...

I'm 6'3", too, sitting on the stock seats is like sitting in a go cart.
Plus the brake pedal is 3 inches higher than the gas pedal so my legs get quite a work out in stop and go traffic.
I've read that the Fiero or Miata seats would fit but I coulnd't find any at the local pull a part store.

Fiero seats are great! Esp. if you can get a set with the Bose speakers in the headrest. I'm using Aerostar seats right now, but will be swapping them for a pair of 2nd gen seats as soon as I can afford upholstery.

    Later,

Feiro seats work great. You can bolt them in, no welding. Just drill some holes. Here's some photos.

I have some seats from a mail truck that i'm gonna put in my 64. They don't recline but once I make some brackets they will be able to slide. I'm 6'2" and I have no clearence issues when sitting in it.

I used some vintage 60's mustang seats I bought at a flea market. they fit a little tight exspecially on the passengers side. All i had to do is drill one hole one each side for mounting to the factory brackets.

I went to the salvage yard today... TWO VANS period.

BUT THERE WAS ONE FIERO WITH BUCKETS, SPEAKERS IN THE HEADREST...

Scored the set for $45! That was the last thing I expected to find!

Saturn seats are looking good... cushiony enough for a comfy ride! Good job Patrick!

The Fiero seats are the most comfortable seats I have had in my Early! I too paid just $50 for the set and they had the Bose speakers in the head rests! It cost me $230 to have both reupholstered but they are Saweeet!!

Fellow vanner Wideload has Fiero seats in his 1st gen Chevy, you aughta check it out.Look in big members gallery,up top. They look damn good.Looks like the way to go.
I ran across a guy with a Honda Del Sol.He thought I was half looney when I asked to look at his seats.Once he found out why ,he was all cool about it though.Naturally I did'nt have a tape measure on me.Look pretty low profile, and narrow [under 21 inches] with recline.

I just picked up a really nice set of black early Miata seats in great shape for $100. Look like they'll fit just fine, and as an owner of an early Miata that I have put a lot of miles in I can attest that they are really comfy, with good manual adjustments.

Miata seats will fit but you 'll have fit issues if you pad your doors,at least in an Econoline. Steve Dolan has them in his Econo pickup, they work well but he ran into problems with his padded door covers hitting.

    Tim,
I think he used Toyota MR-2 seats. The Miata seats are narrower than the Feiro seats. I have used the back bucket seats from a 90's Caravan. They have a different lever for the recliner than the front seats. It's the lever that causes the problem if you try to use the front seats.Plenty of room on the driver's side but a little tight on the passenger side. I just picked up another set in tan leather. Perfect condition including a full bench rear seat to match for $75.00. I'll post a photo as soon as I install them in the new van. I also picked up a set of Miata seats for my 3 window pickup. I should have them monted next week and i'll post those photos too.

What good seat these arn't! Empty Fiero Seats

Post by primaldesigns Thu Apr 09, 2009 1:25 pm

For those of you who are looking for Fiero seats, there is a shop in So Cal that strips down Fieros to the frame so they can attach Ferarri body kits. They are willing to sell the seats from the stripped Fieros for $50 a pair. That includes that Fiero seats that have the speakers in the headrest.
