    61 door hinge ? Empty 61 door hinge ?

Post by Cdcracing Sat Apr 26, 2014 8:18 am

I have a 61 ford econo and the rear door hinge needs to be replaced and also the front door hinge is bent . It's not the pins but the hinge . What is the best way to remove them ? I see one side is riveted . When you replace them do you just use bolts where the rivets use to be ? What is the best way ? Thanks

Yes I had to do that on a 61 Pick-up once not a fun job but it is possible,it helps to have a second set of hands when installing the nuts on the bolts on the lower hinge.

Hey guys, this topic seemed to be the closest to the issue that I am currently having. I just recently acquired a '66 Eco van and couldn't be more excited about it. First time owning one. Although I'm having some hinge issues. They all hinge open and close one door in particular looks like it had a pretty good impact that has caused some significant rust over the years as well as overall alignment.

I've searched the internet for replacement hinges with no luck, and haven't been able to find any donors either. Any suggestions on what I could turn to next? Haven't checked any pull-a-part yards around town yet but can't imagine there being a bounty of these things sitting around. Any ideas?
