Hi, I'm trying to figure out what to do to the under side of my Epup. It's has very light surface rust so do I just wire brush it then prime and paint or use por-15 on it? Paint it the same color as the outside of the vehicle? What did everyone else do?

Re: Cleaning the underside
I'm starting out with a good pressure washing, followed with a good wire brushing with the grinder. Then a coat of POR-15 covered with undercoat for first layer of sound deadening, and UV protection for the POR-15.

Por15 is the way to go, but you must do all three steps. Its a pain in the butt but worth it. I did mine three years ago and still looks great. I also used black trim spray paint over the por15 just to give it a more factory look finish

Re: Cleaning the underside
That must be one hell of a challenge upside down. I went to the web site and it sounds like some serious stuff. This is step #7
7. If you are perspiring and a bead of sweat drops into the POR-15 can, the paint is ruined and should be thrown out. It won’t stick properly.

Re: Cleaning the underside
I need to clean up my underside also. Looks like por15 and ZeroRust both have aerosol can versions. Probably cost a little more for a dozen or so cans to cover the whole underside but would be easier to deal spraying small sections from below and no sweat drops probs etc. Unless the aerosol isn't as good for some reason. Anyone know if Aerosol is just as good?

Re: Cleaning the underside
I would think a paint brush on type would be more durable than a spray.

Re: Cleaning the underside
If it it good enough to be used on Ships,,,ZeroRust is good enough for me,,,,,I got about 150,000 miles on it after 8 years ago that I used it,,,,,,It comes off and thins out with Acetone,,,,,I cut holes in the inside of my rockers as well as brushed, sprayed, dumped and rolled it on my floors, in my doors and wheelwells,,,,,,,

Re: Cleaning the underside
WOW that is nice Donivan! That's exactly what I want mine to look like too. I take it Zero rust comes in different colors? I'm just worried about being underneath the truck and painting over my head so it looks like I need to get a full body suit.

Re: Cleaning the underside
Also Don, how much of the ZeroRust was needed to do the complete underside and floors, doors and wheelwells? Did one Gallon cover all that? Thanks in advance!
