Re: Making it road worthy
Nice work Possum! Given the choice of a showy not so great running van or one that runs great but could use some work cosmetically, I'd choose a Good running safe van every time! I say the cosmetic stuff can wait until all other systems are go. Everyone has their own tastes and standards and as long as we keep these babies running down the road safely, it's a Great thing!!! Thanks for the pics and keep them coming, PLEASE!
Nice looking seats, I'm sure someone would love to have those for their project!

Making it road worthy
The last time I drove the van it it developed a fuel problem on the way home. It turned out to be the fuel filler hose had deteriorated and put at lot of rubber in the tank. The big fix, replace hose, flushed out tank, made an air powered vacuum to get out all the little pieces of rubber, blew out the fuel lines, replaced filter and rebuilt carb, I don't think the fuel line is routed in the correct place,so that still needs some attn.

I hope this hose is for gas, otherwise it will fall apart and get in the filter, its not good to use a radiator hose for fuel, playnpossum wrote:The last time I drove the van it it developed a fuel problem on the way home. I think next i need to service the transmission, and install the trans mount (thanx Dix) also I had it on the lift Sunday and noticed one of the freeze plugs was weeping coolant. My plan is to pull the trans install new mount, and change all the freeze plugs

The hose is for gas. I'm not sure of the brand name or part number. I really need to keep better track of those thingsdodge man wrote:I hope this hose is for gas, otherwise it will fall apart and get in the filter, its not good to use a radiator hose for fuel, playnpossum wrote:The last time I drove the van it it developed a fuel problem on the way home. Re: Making it road worthy
since last post I have installed new harmonic balancer water pump and thermostat. I also bought a set of mopar police rims and new tires, and had the front end aligned. I have been driving the possum van most every day without any problems oh also had the radiator repaired drain valve and mount came loose. Also installed the belly pan Senister hooked me up with ( thanks man) Still a lot I want to do to it at least it has become very dependable and I am having fun driving it..

Re: Making it road worthy
Little here little there! While working one day last week I came down the ramp off the interstate up to the stop when up the road here come "Possum" in his van with the new wheels! The old "spotted it a mile away" and watched it go by until out of sight.....cause that's what we all do!
