    ,,,,,,I like grease myself,,,,,,it is easier to work with,,,,,,,won't leak out,,,,,,,seems to tighten up the gears but that oil is the official stuff,,,,,,,

    A 1st Gen has a fill plug,,,,,,,and is full when it runs out the CHECK LUBE hole,,,,,,

    I guess, since the 2nd Gens don't have a filler plug,,,,,,,the only way they know if the seal went bad and the oil has leaked out is if the steering box locks up on them,,,,,,,

    I guess if you have to have leftover 1st Gen parts on your 67,,,,,,,the  steering box is a better deal than the little 16 gallon gas tank,,,,,,,,,

    I mix grease and 80w-90 gear oil together.....works good for me.

    I've found that the '67 is a mix of 1st gen and 2nd gen parts, along with some " '67-only" parts.
