Re: 13th Annual Toys for Kids Cruise-in
Looks like a Great Time, I got a soft spot in my heart for that 66 Chevelle. A good friend of mine had one growing up and it brings back memories of cruising to the beach when we were teenagers! I'm happy you had such good weather and a Great turnout!
Thanks for the pics!

Joe, looks like another great show at his museum. Always a good turn out! I could spend all day in there.
I was tied up judging a car show in Beverly Hills today. ( Fl. not CA.) We will meet up at a show one of these days or you may make our show Sunday, March 2nd in Crystal River.

Re: 13th Annual Toys for Kids Cruise-in
Thanks Joe! Great pics, sooo many cool rides there. I am sure you had a great time. Garlits deal is like the museum at Indy, you need a extra day to check everything out.
I love the old Willys and Gassers also who doesn't dig a SuperBird. Growing up my uncle ran a Fuel Altered and we grew up going to the drags with him. I kinda went the way of my grandfather on the other side of family building and driving Sprint Cars and both my cousins could only run a 1/4 mile at a time so went the way of my uncle. Actually my cousin Ron has driven the Jungle Jim at some match races and at the March Meets in Famosa (I think Jon has also ran one or 2 events in it as well).
If I didn't live 3k miles away from ya i would deff take you up on a checking it out and knockin back a few cold ones

Yes , great photo tour ! My bro and I have thought about something like that truck for years. We have kicked ourselves many times for letting a White cab over go for scrap a long time ago.

Re: 13th Annual Toys for Kids Cruise-in
Big Daddy was allways one of the good guys, And there are a lot of them, But drag racing like any sport has their share of jerks, Don same out with swamp rat under glass maybe 25 years ago and only this year did most every one in the pro class dragster run it, they were always ahead of their time...

Garlits was ahead of the curve for sure including breaking the 170, 180, 200, 240, 250, and 270 miles per hour marks. Bet he could still manage to cut a decent light today hehe.
