i'm looking for a set of mirrors.  i like the look of the originals, but some west coasts and peeps look pretty sweet too.  i've got some plastic ones on there now that just don't look/sit right, plus one of them is busted.  does anyone have a set for sale or some ideas for mirrors that would work?  the door looks like swiss cheese where other sets have been used over the years, so drilling holes in no worry. thanks!

I just got a set of these from Summit

    http://www.summitracing.com/parts/upd-c5001/overview/

They have a nice finish and fit to them and have some weight to them. Good price too I had other stuff to order so got free shipping. Don't let the price fool you they are nice quality.

I went with these ones. They are too big imo and I will either cut them down, or get something different.

You should be able to find a decent set on Ebay I have been looking for quite some time for some 1st Gen Chevy West Coast Mirrors and cant come up with a decent usable set from this web sight so I am going to sell my Swan Neck ones outright and buy a set off Ebay.!!!!!!!!!!!! Dawgboy those mirrors look good just shorten the arms a little and they should work GREAT.cheers .....

Finding the right mirrors that will look good on a van is hard, these are high. This give someone a idea what to look for. 2 gen Ford and Dodge mirrors look great on any early and you can see good with them also

Don't rule out Ebay and searching for some good usable vintage west coast mirrors. The Ford west coast aftermarket ones (FoMoCo) are really nice quality, and pop up often. They can be costly though, but they are stainless and will last. You may want to also do an Ebay search for "Rotunda" west coast mirrors. This was the early Ford aftermarket name use before FoMoCo. Sometimes you can find something from someone who does'nt know what they have. And, the late 60's early 70's Chevy pickup mirrors will work. I found a set of mirrors that fit those trucks, and it turns out they were Rotunda mirrors. They bolted onto my oem brackets perfectly.
One could even even make something like these work with minimal effort and would look period:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevy-GMC-Truck-West-Coast-Mirror-Set-1959-1960-61-62-63-64-65-66-1967-1968-1969-/380714589355?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item58a45b9cab&vxp=mtr

While the west coast mirrors you see at Autozone/Advance etc look nice and are cheap, the metal brackets rust very quickly and look like shit in short order. If you clear coat the brackets you may ward off the rust....The mirror heads are stainless and will stay nice looking though.

I have a set of originals that could use a repaint for 30.00 plus shipping.

I'd jump on it too, and you know you can "completely" disassemble them and repaint and add new hardware so they will look like new? Smile
