Have a 69 chevy underway pulled the garbage v8 out 292 going back in with 700r. I dont understand crossmember diffrence. side to side v8 crossmember vs. offset 292 can any one clear it up for me? is it van specific? bolts in underneath? this was a very well done early 70's custom, going back retro style with a mural.

It aint a crossmember problem,,,,,,its just that the 292 has its motor mount where the fuel pump usually is,,,,,,,you need to add a plate to make the motor mount reach back to the crossmember.......

Thank you all, so the 250 mounts are straight across from each other? So i guess the fuel pump side gets the plate. I can't find another van in area, havent found pic on internet.
have tranny in garage floor ready motor coming out of shop wed. I am rounding up all the pieces parts to try to get together.
I am rusty and was never very good at the engineering them back together but here goes.
This van was so well done on the inside backed out for shag and mirrors by a company in midwest city okla called the "Van shop" but filthy and set for alot of years. It sadly got a salvage yard up date and sent to swap meet for quick sale. Now its going back to its 70's splendor. less the 8 track, lol!
