This "SUPER SCOOP" is 14"x14" roof vent replacement, a see thru, smoked plexi with an opening door up front that you open by hand for ventilation scratch These were really popular in the 70's Razz

You can also look for a Venturi vent on ebay. They are nice but aren't as available. Any motor home accessory store should have what you want.

OOps just realized that what you described is called a Venturi vent. They stick up higher than the others and won't fit if you drive into some parking structures. I have torn a couple off that way.

The Super Scoop is similiar to Venturi Vent but is stationary, has the hand operated opening door on the front only & has smoother, softer, rounded, curved edges, a very cool looking roof vent Smile The Super Scoop maximum height open/closed was the same height as a regular domed roof vent when closed Wink I had one of these Super Scoops on the roof my 70's G10 van that faced the rear so I could ventilate all that air coming in the front windows, worked like a charm! Idea Never had the problem the other guys had, of having the roof vent lid ripped off when their roof vent was raised in the open position because of low ceilings & low hanging pipes. Embarassed I really hate it when that happens!!! Rolling Eyes

You can get them a almost any RV supply store! Thats the standard size for a roof vent on a motorhome or trailer.

The venturi vent on my 65 is stationary and only the front opens with a crank just as you describe. Problem is it is about 3-4 high. Venturis were very popular in the seventies for those who could afford them.,

They fit great in Econos. Depending on how high your van
is these vents may prevent you parking in a garage. Like I said the Venturi vents were very popular back in the seventies. I have had several of them

I had a Venturi vent in a 90 GMC cargo van, stock ride hieght it just barely fit ina 7 ft high garage door, The interior frame is a slip fit and somewhat adjustable to your roof/interior thickness. nice units made alot of difference.

    Yeah...
Super Scoops are almost as responsible for more holes in pristine roof sheetmetal than poorly installed sunroofs.
They looked cool, till they started leaking, and by then it was too late...
Just me, but I was never a fan of cutting holes in what Detriot worked so hard to sculpt.
Like drawin' 'peace signs' on a DaVinci... Very Happy
