gearshift lever

my 3 on tree shifter seems really short - and maybe the mech is not stock ? - i hate having to reach over the wheel - did a po booger this together or is this the way it is supposed to be


i have not used photobucket in so long they changed some things and i had to re figure it out -maybe i was supposed to resize the pic ? -  oo3

looks to me like some one took  that from a ford tractor. or the shifter on my tractor looks like that. But the 1969 dodge 3 speed / 6   does not have a bolt going thru at the bottom conection it has a small maybe 3/16th sheer pin.  And no knuckel in between. Hope some one chimes in  on this ,I removed my 3 speed  about 5 years ago so i have a few parts but not all of them.

That is certainly a... "home repair"!
Lots of guys swap to autos, you should be able to find a shift assembly complete.
I've even found a few vans in local yards (sad, but...) You may be able to find a complete column and shifter assembly.
