As above,I've tried several times to contact Mike.At first, just no answer. Now recorded message that contact cannot be reached.
I talked to some people I know east of there. They have phone as of yesterday, but no power. Will be 'a week or more' to get power to them.A very rural area. One store has power to them so provisions can be had.
Where Mike lives,is out of the city.Lot of backroads, lined with trees on either side.No tellin how power lines go through, some beside the roads, some though the woods.Trees, power & phone lines strewn on the roads.Fences are down, horses & cows are roaming with no boundries.Shelters are full.Red Cross is there with those in shelters.
Several power companies from several states are joining in to restore. As well as National Guard assisting with help & order.
With 500,000 doing without,it will be awhile before normality will come.Clean-up will take even longer.
We treat the town of Hopkinsville like a neighbor here.Local tv is doing a lot of coverage.Looks pretty bad up there folks.
Mike is about 1 1/2 hours north west of there.
I just hope those folks are ok.
