    Hello everyone,
I've returned to the shop where the van is and took many, many pictures. As it turns out, the van does not run. It "cranks frrely byt will not turn over." It has the I-6 motor and I am returning with a mechanic to price a motor re-build. In the mean time, could anyone point me to a good site where I couldtranslate this VIN: GS 163 OX PC 2512 W

    Any help would be great!
    Thanks again!

About the only thing it will tell you is what year the Van is,and if it came with a 6 or 8 cylinder engine,,,,,,a 1/2 ton has 5 lug wheels,,,,a 3/4 ton has 6,,,,,they came in the short, 90 inch wheelbase or the longer 108 inch,,,,,,and panels and 3 flavors of SportVan or its GMC brother,,,,the HandiBus,,,,, if an engine wont run, then you need to run tests on it to check out its condition to determine if it has problems,,,,,might be something minor,,,,,

gr8! thanks forthe help guys. I know the VIN is pretty trivial, but I like to know what is was to see if it was modified at all. thanks again! Also, how many pics can I post using this sites pic uploader. I have a lot of pics of it and would not mind some second opinions.
    thanks!

There are all kinds of different VIN Types on our vans,,,,,,for Chevys, 64 is different than 65 and 66 which are different than 67 to 70 and GMC ones don't make sense at all......
