    Hi Tony,

    Been a little slow at getting back to you. Sorry, I've been sick in bed. I send the vin numbers to Jay Long with the econosrus yahoo group. He keeps a record of any and all vins. He's been doing it for years and has over 5000 on record. Here's what jay has to say about your number

    Thanks, Duane, that one has come up several times with different owners. It's a default Special (Poppy Red, 170, 3 speed, beige interior, 3.50 LD axle) with a DSO code of 31 (Buffalo).

    Seems it's been around the block a few times. Looks great. Only problem I see is that neither of the trucks in your picture are spring specials. All spring specials were five window trucks. I'd double check the vin numbers. It should have it stamped on one of the rear corner braces. Mostly on the right but it can be on the left. Another location requires the removal of the dog house.

    This picture shows it stamped on the drivers side just behing the bump out for the alt. It can be anywhere on the lip. Hope this helps.
