So Im looking at a van... Empty So Im looking at a van...

Post by Gothboy Wed Oct 24, 2012 8:14 am

It's a a108 van a 66 I think. Its got a pop top on it, and as Im sure some of you may have noticed from previous postings Im dead set on a fiberglass high top van. Now this would atleast get me the van which is great but how difficult is it to find JUST a fiberglass high top to put on it? Is it worth it? (I have no problem doing the work, as I have chopped several cars, and replaces several entire roofs rooves roofes lol, etc in the past, including the huge roof on my hearse). Im going to check out the van this weekend I think, if the seller has time.

Any input welcome. Thank you! Smile

    64 to 66 came 90" only
Any mod you do will be a complete customisation including a fiberglass high top; which were never availible pre 70 as far as I can tell.

I have seen a few vans for sale with hightops on them in the past & I am sure more will come along! If you are wanting a hightop van I would suggest that you wait till another one comes along.

If you buy one without, you KNOW the hightop of your dreams will be listed one week later within 20 miles at a lower price! Razz

Wait for the 'right' one and keep saving!!!

Dang you Rod! I hate it when you get all common sensey Murphy's laws on me...Because you're right when you do it! ugh. Smile I know you're right, but I just was wondering about the frequency of the glass tops availability.

I wish I had a picture, but back in the 70's I used to see an early Dodge that had the hull of a boat grafted on top for a hi top. It didn't look all that bad.

Picture this design hull as a raised roof....
