66 Parts Van - Pic
This is my first attempt at posting a pic on the new forum, so cross your fingers. After a wide search I happened upon this one by accident, chased down the owner and pulled it out of the woods last week. 240 six, 9" rear. Supposedly ran when it was parked 15 years ago but haven't tried to start it. I needed the front axle for my 64 but the rear end is a nice bonus. Don't need any of the doors, glass, etc and will hope to part it out as much as possible. Hate to send the rest to the crusher but once we rip the axles off it'll be hard to do much else with it. Plan to scavenge as many parts as possible before then. (I have a couple of other shots but couldn't seem to get more than one on this post.)

Re: 66 Parts Van - Pic
Yeah, I hate to trash the body, but I looked long and hard for this and this is the ONLY one I found within a reasonable distance, and this happened to be only about 10 miles away.
Bragg, tell me where exactly the switch is you need, and a pic would help. I may try and pull some parts off it this weekend. E-mail me if possible.

Re: 66 Parts Van - Pic
You can't save them all. A 240 with a 9" rear seems like a primo drivetrain to me.
I wonder if someone here could use the body shell once your finished stripping it.

Re: 66 Parts Van - Pic
Where is the van located?
I could use some of the body panels if you are going to cut it up, seems a shame though.

Did someone say "Draggin' a van!"
Hey Southern Man,
Oh Yeah! This has VAN-TRAILER or COOKHOUSE or GUEST HOUSE (wink, wink, nudge, nudge say "no more") written all over this and then some!! This is absolutely too cool to believe.

Re: 66 Parts Van - Pic
I'm in South Carolina, and once we get done pulling the front and rear axles out its going to be hard to move it anywhere. It's at my friends shop - no room at my house. I'm going to strip it of everything, unless someone wants the shell intact at a price that will help me recoup some of what I paid for it. Other than some parts I need, or may need, that's all I care about getting off of this van. I admit, it's a shame to trash this, but right now I don't have any other option.

Re: 66 Parts Van - Pic
Check the master cylinder opening to be certain it's not a 67. If its rectangular, its a 67. Use the front bumper and brackets on your 64,it's stronger and narrower. Save the windshield if its decent. Install the underdash heater in your 64 also for a nice update. Save the license lite off the door, most are trashed. Save all the doors, thats easy to do. Man theres tons of good parts on that puppy. My list of saves would go on and on...........................post the Vin tag for a complete decode of all the specs like rear end ratio,etc..

Re: 66 Parts Van - Pic
I need to get this out of my friends shop within the next couple of weeks. We've pulled both axles out of it, but the body isn't too bad. I'm afraid my options are limited, so if I can't get rid of it it'll be going to the crusher.

Re: 66 Parts Van - Pic
Might be able to sell it for enough to cover those parts.
But I guess finding the parts is the problem.
Another one bites the dust.
To good a shape to destroy.

I need to get over to the shop sometime next week and check on some of these things. I've gotten quite a few PM's too, so I'm making a list of things people need. Thanks for response - please give me a few days.

Re: 66 Parts Van - Pic
Someone needs to save that body. Even if it becomes a daily driver. Too nice to junk it.
