Getting High Empty Getting High

Post by Donn Thu Aug 02, 2012 9:31 am

Got the front end done on the Econoline this weekend. It's now 4 1/2 inches higher then it was after the 8cyl was put in.
Went with Monroe gas shocks, shackles and blocks. Made sure everything was tight and secure. It still rides and drives great..Got the Gasser look I was going for, very happy with the results. Looking for an overflow tank next.[img]htGetting High P8020214tp://i48.servimg.com/u/f48/13/98/72/72/p8020213.jpg[/img]Getting High P8020215

Google (or Bing) "lift blocks on front axle".
You are better off rearching the springs or getting a straight axle...

GET A STRAIGHT AXLE? affraid If you believe everything you read on the Internet just about any modification done to an auto/van/PU is dangerous. You can die inhaling exhaust from headers, Street slicks, non-cat cars, more horse power then factory installed, after market mirrors, Etc..Etc..All are dangerous to someone. Most modifications done correctly with the intended use of the vehicle in mind, can be done safely.

I would not use front axle blocks on a vehicle that was a touring, 4x4 or any other turn related vehicle, but on a 1/4 mile drag / street car done right, driven correctly, will not be any problem at all.

The tires / rims are 15 x 6 Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials. Which ride and hadle great,

Should be going next Friday the 10th.
Beleive it or not I have met two guys down there who both had Econoline pick ups. I was shocked to see them. I honestly don't think I have ever seen one on the roads around LI.
Bellmores been kicking this year..I'll let you know if I am definately going next week.
Also a bunch of guys from my speed shop are having a Hot Rod picnick at Wantagh in Sept. I'll let you know the details when I get them. Should be fun.
